John MacLeod will be teaching mainly Pre-Intermediate (level 2) and Intermediate students.
After these 2 levels you can expect to be able to:

  • understand and use everyday expressions and basic phrases
  • introduce yourselves and answer basic questions about your personal details
  • interact with English speakers who talk slowly and clearly
  • understand simple written information such as signs, brochures, newspapers and magazines
  • understand announcements and other spoken material when spoken reasonably slowly
  • take part in a conversation by answering and asking simple questions

As a New Zealander, John adopts British English in his teachings.  After graduating, John first came to Slovakia in 1999 and has taught English in numerous language institutes in both New Zealand and Slovakia, including the International Pacific University (www.ipc.ac.nz) in New Zealand, and the Bilingual English/Slovak Grammar School in Sučany, Slovakia (www.gbas.sk).
John uses a student-oriented approach in which students are encouraged to participate actively.
